LOS AGAVES
We stumbled upon the ensamble of mezcal that is Los Agaves in Matatlán, Oaxaca in 2014. The Mezcal we shared was from a local producer who was distilling a unique Mezcal purely for the enjoyment of his, family, friends, local community and odd passers by. But the liquid was so good and so unique compare to any Mezcal we had tasted before, we began a discussion with distiller Procoro about how to get more.

The original Orange brand Mezcal is an ensamble of the two agaves. One from Procoro's back yard, the other from another region. The classic and popular Espadin, and the rare, wild Cupreata from Guerrero. The combining of two vastly different agaves creates a flavour profile that is hard to pin down with words. Smoother and less smokey than typical single agave Mezcals, with a touch of sweetness, chocolate and mandarin.
It took 5 years for Los Agaves to be developed & bottled for those who can't get to Matatlán to try it at the source. The bottle is designed and created in Matatlán with Oxacan black clay used by locals for pottery and art (though our international bottles are a replica made with blackened glass), and the same hands that crafted the original liquid continue grow, harvest, roast and distill every droplet of our lovely Mezcal.

Can't wait for you to taste it.
